Transforming Mental Health Support: JAAQ's Innovative Approach

The Urgent Need for Accessible Mental Health Resources

Recent studies reveal that approximately 65% of individuals have experienced mental health issues at some stage in their lives. Despite the critical importance of discussing mental health—acknowledged by 89% of the population - a third of individuals still avoid this crucial conversation. This issue is particularly acute among young people, with 39% of those aged 6 to 16 seeing a decline in their mental health since 2017. Overwhelmed professional services and the prevalence of misleading information on platforms like Google and TikTok highlight a desperate need for reliable, accessible mental health resources.

Innovative Beginnings

In response to this crisis, Danny Gray, founder of WarPaint for Men and a sufferer of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), developed a groundbreaking prototype in 2021. His vision was clear: a dynamic, video-based Q&A platform where experts could provide trustworthy and free advice. This vision gave birth to JAAQ (Just Ask A Question), a hub at www.jaaq.org where users can seek guidance safely and directly.

Rapid Expansion and Wide-reaching Impact

By 2024, JAAQ expanded its offerings to encompass over 30 diverse topics. The platform now features world-class experts, celebrities, and sports professionals who have collectively answered over 750,000 questions, accumulating more than 1.5 million minutes of video. The success of JAAQ soon extended into the corporate sphere with the launch of "JAAQ At Work" - a B2B SAAS platform rolled out within six months of its introduction. This new venture supports corporate well-being teams and has forged powerful partnerships with industry leaders like Bupa, Workday, and NatWest Bank, demonstrating significant impact and commitment to improving workplace mental health.
