Vivobarefoot founders Galahad and Asher Clark are two cousins from seven generations of Glastonbury cobblers who have travelled the world working with shoemakers, both modern and indigenous, in their quest to create, as they put it, “the perfect footwear.”
“The perfect footwear is perfect for your feet. And after exploring the world, we came back to the beginning. To the principle of barefoot design and the original purpose of shoes: protection from cuts, cold and heat.
“The less shoe we make, the better it is for feet, human movement and planetary health.”

Vivobarefoot’s vision is to reconnect people to the natural world by inspiring natural health journeys with their barefootwear and experiences to expand human potential. As a certified B Corp, this family-run business is guided toward meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Alongside a top team of young shoemakers, digital minimalists, scientists and health professionals, Vivobarefoot create barefootwear to give feet the freedom to move as Mother Nature intended.

Collaborating to build a regenerative business, one that creates a positive and lasting impact rather than simply minimising negative effects, they recognise it’s a long road ahead; but one in which they are consistently taking small steps in the right direction by working with material innovators, manufacturing partners and their community to understand and improve their impact. Their goal is to one day create fully circular footwear, which means that every material used is either recycled or comes from a regenerative source, while every product made can either be composted or recycled at the end of its useful life. It is an ambitious endeavour which completely challenges the conventional norms of modern-day shoe-making, but one which we respect and support through our ongoing investment.
